Sodium Hexametaphosphate (SHMP) is a white powder available in food grade or FCC and technical NSF grade. It is widely used as a sequestrant, food additive, water softener, detergent ingredient, and dispersing agent for breaking down clays and other soil types. The product is completely soluble in water in all proportions but insoluble in organic solvents.
