Iron Powder, Micronized, Light
Micronized low-density iron powder is one of the finest iron powders available, featuring irregular and flake particles as small as 5 microns. This high-purity, electronic-grade iron dust is ideal for numerous specialized applications. However, due to the small particle size, up to 2-3% of this product may oxidize on the surface during the grinding and packaging processes.
This product serves a wide variety of functions across different industries. It can be used in chemical reactions, as filler metal for plastic or epoxy compounds, in mirror backing, for high-density powder metallurgy (P/M) parts, or as a carrier for photocopy toners. The powder is also an excellent matrix metal for diamond bonding and can be used in various ferromagnetic applications. Additional uses include fingerprinting powders, magnetic inks, and magnetic paints.
However, caution is required when handling, as fine iron dust can form an explosive mixture in the air. Always avoid inhalation, and use a mask and protective clothing during handling.
