Citric Acid Anhydrous USP FCC Food Grade is a natural preservative and flavor enhancer that is commonly used in the food industry, detergents, and pharmaceuticals. It is a white crystalline powder with a molecular formula of C6H8O7 and CAS number 77-92-9. About 70% of the manufactured Citric acid is used in the food industry to enhance sour or tart taste in foods or drinks. It is also used to complement flavors of soft drinks and beverages, jams and jellies, candy, sherbets and wine. Citric acid is also necessary for maintaining regular bodily functions and energy production.
